I own The Animal Hospital in downtown Carrboro and recently had to replace an old retaining wall made out of railroad ties that had deteriorated over time. It's in the very front of the business so it really was an eyesore and didn't convey the good first impression we hoped to make on new clients or the general public strolling through town. Eric Vickers of Tarheel Hardscapes and his team of artisans were incredible in the reconstruction as they knew what type of wall would hold up and hold beauty over time. He brought samples to the hospital for us to see, gave an accurate estimate for the work, told us exactly what would be involved in removing the old structure and building the new, and completed it on time and on budget.

Tarheel Aquascapes designed, built and now manage my waterfall and it's Koi pond below. There was an existing hardscape path and bridge which they incorporated into the scene beautifully. The waterfall was built with massive boulders that look natural even though I have relatively small yard. The Koi fish pond is peaceful and it is entertaining to watch to as they swim, especially when they race to eat the food that I toss to them from the bridge. In addition the various water plants they added are perfect, and the Lilly pads are colorful and change daily. Overall, the plants are beautiful and interesting to observe through the seasons.
Eric has a terrific, knowledgeable and dependable crew working for him. They respond to questions, problems promptly and I highly recommend their work and love the finished product.
